little question for you guys .. do you think it s possible to upgrade a stock DX engine ( 1991 ) to 150 hp ???

what would be the best mods to do ?? or should i forget about it and buy another engine??

Forget the d15 in my opinion -
Swap a ZC engine (Si motor from Japan) - 130 HP
    or swap a b16 (Si-R motor from Japan) - 160HP

the stock d15 motors do not respond well to mods...I chose the ZC route..currently rebuilding (to stock 130HP) with header and intake.
And where did you get that extra 1 stock HP out of yours? Mine only has 92?? biggrin

my boy here is right on..you can get your stock d15 up to 150 whp with enough cash, but it's gonna be a crappy daily driver and it'll cost you way more than a b16 swap..plus you can have a car that you will actually enjoy driving on a daily basis, not just drag racing. and welcome to the board smile

Bore out to 1600, port and polish the head, twin-webber 45mm carbs choked to 40mm, extractors, mugen cam, increase compression to 10.5:1, balance and blueprint.

EW2 12valve engines can be taken to 150bhp in this format and still remain drivable on the street - just.

But dropping a ZC in and going from there might be a better move smile

I feel your pain. When i bought my civic i was thinking i coult throw a few mods under the hood and break 120hp or so but alas, the dx engines dont respong good enough to mods to really take it that far. Still fun to drive though. Lotsa space in the back for all my guitars =o. I know i wont be having the money for a zc or b16 anytime before i can just buy a 5th gen or something, so i'm pretty much givin up on racing. I'd still like to do some blacklights & subs and useless stuff like that though.
